After playing Europa Universalis 4 on PC a lot through the years I have set my eyes on Europa Universalis: The Price of Power.
I love the PC-game, so I'm excited about a boardgame that adapt this awesome grand strategy game. The game seems massive and is of course expensive.

Have anyone played this game before? Or maybe you have an opinion of the game based on your impressions?

So I've done some research about it when it was on Kickstarter, but haven't played it. It is indeed very expensive..
It is both a long and complex game, so the amount of times it will hit the table will probably be.. Not often :P For some that is a no-go, as they want games that can be played regulerary, while others find it perfectly fine to have grand games that comes on now and then on "big" occasions :)
If you plan a full Saturday dedicated to it, with the right group who enjoy competitive war games, then I think it can be a hit. There are definitely some conflicted opinions though. Some seem to love it, while some seem to hate it 😆 In other words it will probably depend greatly on your gaming group.

The board game seems to be a pretty good adaptation though for what it's worth, at least that is what I've read based on those who have played both.

So for some more detailed opinions from people that have played it:

Negative:

Positive:

And of course there are others.. :)

Game looks really cool, I would definitely be in to test it. :)
I too have not played it though. From what I've seen the game is in the "grand" category for sure. You'll need at minimum a long evening for it at 4-6 players, or split it between two days, and it looks pretty complex.

I see Gamezone are expected to get the base edition it in store this year, at 1750 NOK.
Or the deluxe edition at Outland for a hefty 2700 NOK, but they have it in stock at least. So definitely for that price it would be nice to find someone to has it so it can be tested beforehand. There are board game meetings at Samsen and the Library in Kristiansand every now and then, maybe someone has it there that can bring it along one day to test?
