In a online streaming presentation, Awaken Realms announced that they are developing a STALKER board game adaptation. There is currently no release date announced, but the game will launch on Gamefound by late Q2 2023, which sets the campaign date to around June. Awaken Realms will co-produce the game alongside video game developers GSC Game World, which were responsible for the STALKER video game series.

Awaken Realms is a highly popular Polish board game company, which have made a vast number of deep and involving board games such as Nemesis, ISS Vanguard, Tainted Grail and more. Having Awaken Realms at the wheel for this game is something that should bring high hopes for an excellent game experience and well-made adaptation.

The stalker video game series is a survival horror game set as an alternative version of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in Ukraine. The zone is a very dangerous place where you will face radiation (obviously), anomalies, creatures and even other stalkers, all with their own goals and agendas.

The board game will be a cooperative strategic zone crawler with a story driven narrative for 1-4 players. You are controlling one stalker, where you can upgrade your gear, skills and other features of your character. Each of the stories will consist of 2-4 exciting scenarios, and each scenario is expected to last for about 2 hours. The scenarios will include stealth missions, retrieval missions, fighting, artifact hunting, navigating through anomalies and so on.

This looks cool! I hope the gameplay is really engaging, and not just a quick IP cash grab like many of these large board game adaptations from games and movies lately. But seeing as this is in the hands of Awaken Realms, I assume it is going to be a solid one :)
